Are they really helping Gays or trying to save Christianity.
Father Nathan Monk needs to understand that we couldn't give a damn about Christian mythology in the Bible. Gay people don't have to consider every silly story in the Bible.

Who are they really helping out? The Gay community or are they bailing out Christianity.
Introduction
A Father Nathan Monk had the following post on Substack. The Substack algorithm decided I needed to know about it.
I have heard of this interpretation about the story of Sodom and Gomorrah being about hospitality and not homosexuality. This post is fairly old news.
Frankly, a God that massacres a city for being noisy or not slavishly worshiping him is a psychopathic God, but Christians as so self-unaware and so lacking in critical thinking thaty they don’t realize what a stupid religion Christianity is.
Utterly don’t care about the crazed Chrisian mythology.
We have a right to exist not dependent on various involved arguments about Christian mythologies that are in the Bible. We doin’t have to care about every little mythological story in the Bible anymore than we have to care about Ovid’s Metamophosis. (A book of Greek mythological stories.)
A small and ever shrinking number of Gay Christians who, are Christian first, and Gay 2nd or 3rd, and basically lack critical thinking skills are the type of persons who will find Nathan Monk’s article of interest.
Homophobia is crashing Christianity.
Polls have shown that one of the major reasons Christianity is declining is that the general public really doesn’t like homophobia, and in particular angry homophobia.
Gays have brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephes and nieces. Even though Gays are about 3% of the population, the percentage of the population with a Gay relative is high, maybe over 50%. They may not have all the best attitudes towards Gays, but they don’t want them to be victims either.
Gays have neighbors, friends, coworkers, etc.
So you have Evangelicals adopt a stance that they, “Love the sinner, hate the sin.” They instruct members to avoid slurs and not to be hostile. Pope Francis still is considering homosexuality a sin, but wants to play nice.
Liberal denominations are breaking up because some are accepting Gay clergy and doing Gay marriages.
On a historical time scale, Christianity is in free fall in membership.
They are saving themselves.
Religions do die. Manichaeism was a religion that stretched across the world from the Atlantic to the Indus River and elsewhere. Now it is largely only known by graduate students specializing in one of the more obscure branches of history.
Christianity has a talking snake, world flood, and a variety of other fanciful fables as well as ritual cannibalism. It has a 20 century long history of atrocities. Their past record is catching up with them. “Liberal” Christians are ditching one section of the Bible after another.
We need to call out denominations, religious leaders, and others when they think they are doing us a big favor.
We need to say:
You are doing this to save Christianity, not us. We don’t care about your silly Christian fables.
Using the term Christian fables or mythology.
We need to not privilege Christianity. If some Christians want to refer to the stories in the Bible as real, that is their choice and their right. We however, don’t have to go along or indulge their beliefs. We need to use the terminology, Christian fables or Christian mythology.
This is a key action to decenter Christianity from the public thinking.
It needs to be just another religion in the world, and not the special one.
