This is something you can do in your town to shutdown homophobic church influence at city hall.
It doesn't take more than an hour a week on average if that much to do this project.

People at City Hall are now scrambling to have plausible denialbility. This is my review of the article.
Dallas City Hall is now coming up with a new policy for invocation speakers. Anti-Gay religious aren’t going to be getting prestige, publicity and legitimacy by being invocators for Dallas City Council meetings.
Also, a lot of anti-Gay groups got exposed and the public was alerted that they were sort of slithering about at city hall and the Gay community was alerted to the menaces in the Dallas area.
The issue of the hostility towards Gays and how it is widespread among Christian groups was also highlighted. I discovered who the active anti-Gay groups were and posted about them locally.
This wasn’t a big project. It is just a spread sheet and being organized and on the average it was an hour a week if that much.
Also, it was good to show how slack the local Gay activist were and how some City Council members claiming to be Gay supporters weren’t all that much as supporters.
You can go on and post another meme in a Facebook group or you can do something has significant value to help the Gay community.
Also, this issue is not over yet. I expect push back and the issue of homophobia among Christians will be an issue.
Sharing this post helps me get the word out and gives other Gay atheists some ideas what they might do.
